#4 Fashion on the Streets of NYC

I love people watching and living in NY, there is PLENTY to watch. Being into fashion, I tend to analyze and critique all that I see and simultaneously see how runway fashion is translated in to literal day-to-day wear.

The change of seasons is exciting because you get to see everything new. Riding boots, lots of leather jackets in various colors and so many fun scarves. A trend I noticed more than I have in the past is the cross-body bag. A bit smaller and narrower than the messenger bag. It's compact, comfortable and allows NY's busy fashionistas to keep their hands free for everything else they're doing.

Here are some shots from the street:

They come in so many colors and patterns:

  1. I personally love the cross-body bag. It is a must have in New York City. I prefer the smaller style because it allows me to carry everything I absolutely need without having to lug around a giant bag all day. But, the Betsey Johnson bag featured above is adorable. The lightning bolt detail is a cute surprise typical of the designer, and I love the print she used. I think this bag style is a long lasting trend because it is so versatile and constantly being interpreted in new ways.
